There was a murder in the city this evening. It happened around 5:20 when a man was shot at the height of the evening rush house on Mahogany Street not far from the police station.

The victim is Edward Lord - who has survived numerous murder attempts. In 2007, he was accused of killing the notorious Junie Balls and Lord has been under sustained death threat ever since he was released from prison after that case fell apart.

He survived an attempt on his life in October of last year.

The shooting happened around 5:30 this evening in front of Brick City barber shop on Mahogany.

Our team went on the scene and received reliable reports that an assault rifle was used - and as many as 20 or more expended shells were found on the scene by police.

According to witnesses Lord was standing outside when a brown vehicle - resembling a Ford Escort pulled up and someone inside opened fire.

Reports on the street are that the shooting may have been retaliation for a murder last week.

As we reported, Lord had been charged for killing George Junie Balls Mckenzie in 2007 and numerous attempts had been made on his life after he got off that murder charge.
