Police Constable Remanded For Carnal Knowledge

And while those police got out of remand after eight months, another police officer today entered the prison on remand. 24 year old Police Constable Yannick Wade who allegedly fathered the baby of a 15 year old girl, was charged with carnal knowledge when he appeared today in the #6 Magistrate's Court.

No plea was taken because it is an indictable offence. Neither could the court offer him bail - since remand is automatic in such cases. Wade is alleged to have had sex with the minor in November of last year.

Last week the girl gave birth to a baby and her father told our court reporter that he has already given his consent for her to marry the police officer after she turns 16 in August.
