35 year old Rudolph Smith, a laborer of mile 17 and a half on the Western Highway faced multiple charged when he went to court today. He is accused of two counts of aggravated burglary, and one count each of aggravated assault and wounding. The burglary is alleged to have occurred two weeks ago on George Street - the residence of a 28 year old woman. The woman told police that she went to use the bathroom, located in a separate building away from the house when smith held her up with a knife and too her up into her bedroom and then threw her on the bed.

Smith started to disrobe her and that's when she knocked away his knife, struck his genitals and managed to get away. That's one aggravated burglary; the other is alleged to have occurred in Hattieville two nights ago when a 15 year old reported that she was awakened by the presence of someone in her room. When she turned on the light, she saw a man with a knife in his hand standing in the corner.

He dashed off, but police say Rudolph Smith is the man., He say no though; he pleaded not guilty in court today and the prosecution objected to bail on the ground that the offences are of a serious nature and one of the complainants is a minor. Magistrate Emmerson Banner upheld the objection and he was remanded until August 16th…..
