Twenty-four year old Stacey Belisle, a Bartender who allegedly tried to smuggle 31.7 grams of cannabis in a foam plate with food to remanded prisoner Alexander Underwood, was freed of a charge of Possession of Controlled Drug today In the #4 Magistrate's Court. After the prosecution closed its case, Magistrate Roberto Ordonez ruled that Belisle had no case to answer to because the foam plates were needed to be tendered as exhibits and that was never done. He also explained that the Police Corporal who found the drugs did not identify Belisle in court as the accused.
The incident occurred around 11am on February 16, 2011. The Police Corporal testified that Belisle gave him a foam plate with food to give Underwood and he discovered that there was an extra foam plate at the top and he saw 3 transparent plastic bags containing cannabis.
