None of us will soon forget, Joshua Abraham, the 9 year old who was killed by gunshots on Independence Day. And while the loss of such a young life saddens the entire community, surely, the grief is greatest for his family. But this morning at 4:30, they were pulled out of their time of grieving when the GSU went to raid their house. Marcia Arguelles told us she was at the door to greet them because since her son was killed, she can't sleep. She told us they were looking for weapons and drugs, but really, they were victimizing the victims:..
Marcia Arguelles
"They said 'police, open the door,' so I say for what and they said that they were searching for guns and drugs and I say what. As I said that the first thing I tell them 'please don't break up my house,' they no and they come in and say 'who live here.' From the time they tell me that I ask what happen. They come to my house and they don't know where they are going. I told them to come in, my mother was there, she is very sick and my family is still going through our own depression. My mother got up and starts crying and she told them right away that she had just buried her grandson. Why do you guys have to come here? She showed them a picture of her grandson, and you could have seen it in their eyes that they were shock, they said 'oh it's here, miss sorry my deepest sympathy.'"

"They come to my home - they violate me, my rights, disrespect me at this time of bereavement. I am really going through a deep depression. If I fall sick it would be on their hands. I am here right now but you don't know how I am feeling. I vomited and stuff. They came with their sarcastic and arrogant ways like their heart are made from rock stone. I don't appreciate it. I got a call from the Minister himself and he apologizes to me and that he was not aware of the incident."

"Which Minister?"
Marcia Arguelles
"Minister of Security Mr. Doug Singh, I appreciate that he call, but he needs to get to his ministry because they will always make him look bad. "Sorry" will not help me, they already violated me. My son is dead, they shot my son. I said that I will leave it in the hands of the law. I have to inform the public that yesterday Mr. Broaster visited my home. I didn't go to Mr. Broaster, he came here to my home and inviting me to a meeting and I went and it was a very productive meeting. Mr. Broaster asks me to please help him in the neighborhood - to try to relax the guys because of my son death. I was thinking that because of my son death I could use this to try to make betterment in my neighborhood. They say that they will give the youth jobs and stuff. I sat with Mr. Broaster, Mr. Casanova and Ms. Vasquez. We had a very good meeting, we came with a plan. I told them that I will use my influence to talk to the guys and I call them last night - the ones that I know and I ask them and they say yes miss 'we are ready to work, we will just relax ourselves.'"
"Now this happen to me, it makes me feel like Mr. Broaster had set me up. I don't know how will I get back to the guys and they them to not to worry about anything because they are upset with what happen. I don't know what they call peace? They are not communicating with each other because if they had known this happen yesterday, probably they would think and know what they are doing. "Sorry" will not heal anything for me. They have already disrespected me and my home and my baby."
"I even ask them if they came to look for the 42 guns that they had lost, you all think that I have it, you all think that I want to make an army. This is ridiculous and I don't even know what to say. I need to come up with a plan to stop arrogant people."
The search was mercifully short for the GSU and finished a little after 5:00 this morning. We communicated by text message with the head of the GSU, Superintendent Marco Vidal, this evening and he was unapologetic. He said, quote "no apologies were made (by his officers) as was suggested. It was the intended house and they are the parents of notorious (FIGURES) linked to one of the main gangs in the city."
