A hot-headed landlord - who wanted to collect his rent badly - will now have to spend over a year in prison.
Twenty five year old Jesus Ayuso, a mason of #5 Farmer's Market charged with wounding his roommate Honduran national Erica Flores was sentenced to 18 months today by Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith after he pleaded guilty to the charge. The incident occurred around 11:47 p.m. on Thursday, October 27. Flores, a pizza vendor, appeared in court and said that she and Ayuso had an argument over rent money and although she told him she was going to pay little by little he would not understand and he became angry. She said Ayuso punched her in her face and chest then he punched her against a concrete wall which caused a wound to the back of her head. She was given a medico-legal form and she was taken to Karl Huesner memorial Hospital where the doctor who examined her classified her injury as wounding. Before she sentenced him Chief Magistrate Smith ordered Ayuso to apologize to Flores.
