A 17 year old drowned on Friday evening in the Macal River. His body was found on Sunday afternoon by a team of divers about 20 feet from the Hammock Bridge in the Branch Mouth area.
Flowers, who is originally a resident of Orange Walk Town, was staying at a relative's home in Esperanza Village while he went to school at UB in Belmopan.
And while police say it is a drowning, his family suspects foul play, because he was allegedly in the company of three men. Flowers aunt - who is his custodian - told police, that the three men gave distinctly different accounts of how Flowers drowned. But a witness told the family that he saw Flowers struggling to stay afloat, but the men did nothing to save him. Flowers apparently didn't know how to swim.
