A student of Maude Williams high school was shot last night at 7:30 on Welch Street - just a couple houses away from where he lives. 18 year old Deshawn Goff was riding his bicycle along with his girlfriend when at the corner of Gibnut and Welch streets a man ran out from through Fuller's alley and fired a shot - hitting him in the abdomen.
Goff attempted to run and the gunman pointed the gun at him again and fired - but luckily for the second form student, the gun snapped.
Goff was rushed to the KHMH - where he is tonight listed in a stable condition. His family today 7news that last night's shooting may have been caused by an incident that happened two weeks ago - where Goff was robbed and cut up just a couple blocks away from his home. We spoke to a relative off camera.

"I was in my house, I came outside but the young man was out here eating a fry chicken."

"Deshawn?"

"Yes ma'am."

"I came outside and then Deshawn dropped in front of me shouting for me, help me, help me, help me and I shouted for his grandmother and told them that Deshawn got shot and then his grandmother took him to the hospital."

"You heard how many gun shots?"
Voice of Relative
"I heard one gun shot, so I don't know how or if the bullet injured him badly inside, but he was not bleeding outside it was inside. So I don't know what happened so I can't tell you."

"You don't know which part of his body he received that gun shot?"

"I would say it was his...."

"His mid-section?"

"Yes ma'am, so I don't know what to say about what happened to him, I am just going to look for him this evening. I really want to know what happened to him because Deshawn AKA "Nanny" didn't do anything to anyone. Nanny is a nice person, he is friends with everyone and Nanny is like my son. So I don't know what is those young men problem, or what they want, I don't know what to say because I don't know what is the problem and I don't want them to hurt Nanny for no reason. I was just a drive by so we don't know what the problem with them is. But we just want to know what is the problem so that the young men can come and talk to us and tell us what is the problem they have, because Nanny is a nice person, I only want them to know that. I don't want them to get any misunderstanding with Nanny or anything."

"But did he mention to you guys if he had problems with anyone, if anyone was threatening him or anything?"

"They had robbed him, about last three weeks he was robbed, they cut up the whole side of him, and he was stab nearby his heart. I just want to know why they did it, because they robbed him of his chain, his money, his food, my sister's bike everything they robbed and took from him."
"And he dropped right in front of us here and then the police had beat him up the other day, so we are even afraid to call the police because the police won't even coming to help us, because they had come and beaten up Nanny and my brother-in-law."

"For what reason?"

"For no reason at all, Police just came and beat up and fight, so I just want to know what their problem is."
Police are looking for a suspect from Iguana Street in connection with the shooting. It is the first city Shooting since November 18th.
