38 year Francis Ramos is spending the second night on remand after he pleaded guilty to attempted murder on Wednesday before Justice Troadio Gonzalez in a trial without jury.
The victim, 33 year-old Michael Young testified that he and 2 of his stepdaughters were sitting in their living room at their Banak Street home just before midday on May 14, 2011.
According to Young, Ramos was sitting with them, attacked him and stabbed in the chest and forearm before he managed to push him away. Young collapsed, and when he regained consciousness, he was at the KHMH receiving treatment.
Crown Counsel Leroy Banner called several witnesses to testify against him, but he never completed his case because Ramos told the court that he wished to change his plea to guilty.
Justice Gonzalez accepted his guilty plea, and remanded him to prison while he awaits his mitigation hearing, scheduled for July 17.
