Alleged hit and run driver Julio Choc is in jail tonight - on remand for causing the death of 32 year old mother of one, Melissa Murillo Andrews on last Saturday night. The Belmopan resident was arrested on Wednesday night after Belmopan police got a call pointing the cops to his cargo truck was concealed under a covering. The truck had front end damage consistent with the one that ran over Andrews and her husband, Allen.

He was charged for manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, Negligent Grievous Harm, driving without due care and attention, Fail to Stop and Render Aid, and two counts of Failing to Report an Accident.

This was a particularly cruel case where witnesses say, the persons in Choc's cargo truck actually had to remove Murillo's body from the grill of the vehicle, put her on the side of the road, and then drove off. She was with her husband who had stopped to repair something on his motorbike between miles 11 and 12 on the Southern Highway.

And there's another fatality to report tonight in the south. 7News has learned that a man was killed about an hour ago at mile 25 on the Hummingbird Highway. 67 year old Jose Garcia drove his Ford ranger drove unto the Hummingbird Highway into an oncoming Mack Truck. Garcia received serious head and body injuries and was transported to southern regional hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival. Henry castellans Drove the Mack truck.

Reports say he was driving out of a farm without clearing traffic first.
