And, the killing didn't stop there. It continued on Sunday night in the city - when, again, close to midnight, killers were stalking their prey for another at-home execution.

Daniel Ortiz tells us about the demise of Dillen Dougall:...

At 11:20 last night, 25-year-old Dillen Dougall was sitting here on the stairs of this 2 story home. He was with his girlfriend when a gunman and his accomplice arrived. The shooter pretended to be a customer who was looking to buy some smoking supplies. That distraction was just enough for the gunman to catch Dougall and his girlfriend off-guard so that the shooter could get close and gun him down.

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero - Deputy Head, NCIB

"Investigation reveals that he was his verandah when 2 male persons came asking to purchase fonto, at which point they were told that there was none to sell at the house. One of the male persons then asked for someone else at the house. They made their way on the steps of the house, and one of them pulled out a firearm and fired several shots at Dougall, causing the fatal injuries to him. Thereafter the two male persons fled from the area."

Voice of: Ingrid Conorquie - Aunt of the Deceased
"From my understanding, he was at home, actually. He was on the verandah when someone came to the yard and asked for Fonto - or a bambu, or something like that. And, it seems like the gunman was already there at the time. And, the first shot - actually, they said that he suffered 5 shots. The first shot that he got was in the chest. But, he diabetic patient, so you know, when he got that first shot, I don't know if he blanked out. But, from my understanding as well, he was struggling with the gunman also. That's when he fell on top of him, and that's when he - the gunman - him the other 4 shots in the face."

It is unclear why Dougall was executed in this manner last night, but police have their suspicions that he had possible gang connections. His family disputes that. They say that he unfortunately was labeled as a supposed member of the PIV gang, simply because he lived in that gang's turf.

Reporter
"Is Dougall involved in any sort of gang business here in the City?"

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero
"We have gathered information that he's affiliated with a group in that area."

Reporter
"So, he is certainly the target of this shooting."

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero
"Yes, he was the one that was targeted."

Voice of: Ingrid Conorquie - Aunt of the Deceased
"To be honest with you sir, this whole thing - I'm not saying its a gang-affiliated thing. On my behalf, the way how I see things flowing right now, you can't live be living in any area where somebody just placing you as a person in that area. Yes, he used to live in the PIV area, because that's where his grandmother lives. But, then, he's a working person."

"He was trying to get all his stuff together in order to build his house because actually, he was going to move from there. But then, he was getting all his supplies ready to just move from where he was and then relocate somewhere else."

Unfortunately, that plan to leave that part of the city did not occur quickly enough, and now, Dougall's murder means that his children are left fatherless.

Voice of: Ingrid Conorquie - Aunt of the Deceased
"He had 1 child, and then he also has 1 on the way as well. He is just someone that was always there for his little son, and the other 1 on the way."

"Now the one is on the way, and that one won't even get to know his father. Right now, his little son is even asking for him. But, you know, you can't really explain to him, until time goes by."

A few of his family members have acknowledged that he had come in conflict with the law, but they say that he made serious attempts at changing his life in recent years.
