And, in crime news...
He was shot and killed on Monday evening, and tonight, only 4 days later, police have made an arrest in the murder of 26-year-old Shakeem Dennison.
The man who police believe was Dennison's assailant is 34-year-old Rodman Welch. He has been formally arrested and charged with the crime of murder and will be arraigned next week.
Interestingly, Welch is well known to the Dennison family, and his grandmother was their neighbour. Notably, he was shot in the mouth one year ago - on October fifth.
But police say that on Monday he was the one doing the shooting as he allegedly rode up on a motorcycle while Dennison and some friends were playing basketball. The shooter reportedly walked onto the court, fired 3 shots directly at Dennison, and sped off after Dennison fell to the ground - dying shortly after.
