In other crime news, Police may have made a major find in the Marisela Gonzalez murder investigation.

Today, CIB officers in Belize City went to the Belize city transfer station to dig through garbage that came all the way from San Pedro.

That's the same dump where Marisela's body was found on Sunday - and police had a theory that the DVR from the security system in the couple's home - which is missing - may have been flung in there.

Well, information to us is that investigators sifted through the San Pedro garbage and did found a battered DVR unit. It's been exposed to the elements for a week - but police hope they can salvage something from the hard drive - which may provide evidence of the murder.

The search for the DVR caused community ruckus on San Pedro on Wednesday night when members of the public saw police taking Gonzalez to his home. Excitable types drew the false conclusion that they were taking him home for a shower and that started a whole facebook uproar about so called special treatments. In fact, they were taking him to the house to look for the DVR - which could not be found.
