Today, police did not give information about an accident in Santa Elena Town, but the video of the incident speaks for itself. It shows a man walking his bike across the street in front of Boiton's bar b due near the Hawkesworth bridge. That's when a cargo truck comes barrelling down the road and slams into him without even trying to brake.
The truck then pinned him against another parked vehicle. A subsequent video shows him writhing in pain on the pavement as he waits for assistance. He survived the impact.
Franks Eddy Drowning Victim Found
46-year-old Jose Mendez's postmortem has revealed that he drowned after his boat capsized in the Sibun River on November 17. Mendez along with his son and a friend reportedly went fishing near Franks Eddy when they experienced engine failure. The floodwaters caused the boat to capsize and Mendez's son and the friend were able to swim to the riverbank, but Mendez submerged and did not resurface. His body was discovered on Friday, around 1:30 in the afternoon by Coast Guard Officers and was positively identified on Saturday.

And while Mendez's postmortem puts a definitive end on his story one Valley of Peace farmer is still missing. That's according to his sister Demita, who filed a report last week - that she last saw him weeks ago. Police told us what they know so far.
