Last night, we told you about the lawsuit from Dr. Adelita Zaiden against the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. She is suing them for a little over 1.3 million dollars in damages. She is asserting that the hospital's Board of Governors did her an injustice when they wrongfully terminated her as the hospital's Chief of Staff and the Ear Nose, and Throat Specialist.
We were having difficulties in finding out what happened when the case went before Justice Lisa Shoman yesterday for a case management conference which was virtual.
We understand that the attorney for KHMH asked for leave to amend their defense against Dr. Zaiden's claim. Leave was granted, and KHMH must file that amendment by December 10th. The claimant will also be allowed to amend its reply by December 21st. Disclosure in the case is scheduled for January 18th, 2021, and witness statements are to be filed by February 8th.
After that these steps are carried out, the case will progress to pre-trial review, which is scheduled for February 23, 2021.
