But, while the cops were able to bring us up to speed on that incident, it was the press who informed them about a video circulating on Facebook in which a street brawl broke out on Orange Street in Belize City.
Best information suggests that this fight broke out last week Friday, and the cell phone video shows several men and women tangled up in a street scuffle in which fists and an umbrella are flying, in the thick of downtown traffic.
The press asked police about possible charges for the aggressors if the victim decides to come forward to press charges. Here's how that conversation went:
Reporter
"Is that something that the police department would investigate if you come across that video? Or would that person have to go into make a report?"
Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero - Deputy Head, NCIB
"We would investigate that matter if it comes to us, yes."

Reporter
"Would she need to make a report as well?"
Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero
"We will follow up on any investigation where we see the need that it has to be investigated."
Reporter
"So, the video has not yet reached the police as yet, is that what you're saying?"
Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero
"I have not seen the video as yet, no."
After the interview, Romero asked reporters to point him in the direction of this Facebook beatdown video.
