And, keeping it out west, at the top of the news we told you about a shallow grave found in a farm off the Hummingbird Highway - just outside Belmopan.
We count three murders in Belmopan since January.
We asked the area rep about the changing times in the once peaceful city and what, if anything, he intends to do about it.
Oscar Mira, Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs and New Growth Industries.
"I am presently in contact with the police department to get the details of the body that was found by Pollack farm, yes I have been very concerned about the increase of crime in Belmopan, I mean Belmopan used to be one of the safest places in Belize where you could go and left your door open and nobody was going to fool with your house but things are changing and I did have a meeting with the commissioner of police and his senior officers and we are coming up with a strategy to make sure that we fight crime in Belmopan, we're not going to tolerate criminals to take over the peacefulness of Belmopan. We are working together and I have given them my commitment that I will do whatever is possible to lobby to ensure that they get the resources that are needed to ensure that they can patrol, effectively patrol Belmopan. It is indeed alarming when we see an increase in crime when you aren't used to it so if there is one violent crime in Belmopan we get alarmed."
