At the top of the news, we showed you the 3 men, including Hugo Patt's nephew, who were arraigned in connection with that major weed bust in Ladyville on Wednesday evening.

Well, according to "Dickie" Bradley, the attorney representing those defendants, there were 4 other men who were detained for questioning in connection with this case. He added that those 4 men were treated poorly by the police, while they were in custody for an unreasonable amount of time.

Here's what he had to say about the alleged unlawful detention of these initial suspects:

Richard "Dickie" Bradley - Attorney for Defendants
"They are of the view that the way they were treated - a lot of people don't mind when police detain them, check out, and when information - they let you go. But, first of all, they were forced to kneel on the road for almost 2 hours. They all lifted up their pants and they have what you'd call lacerations and bruises. It's a rough thing to have people - why do you have them kneeling down for? Can't they stand up? They all can't sit down? They are not animals. Why did you do that to them? Then, a famous police officer, who is well known, kicked one of them in the side, just like that. All of them saw that, but what is really hurtful is that you keep me for 2 days in a station. You didn't find me with any drugs. You didn't see me lifting any boxes. Why are you doing that to me? Isn't that malicious? That is what the court will take into account, why you're doing that to people."

"We, lawyers, have a duty to say this to the citizens of this country, the police have no right in law to hold you at any police station, for 5 hours, 10 hours, 20 hours, whatever, and then let you go. That is an unlawful act and a violation of your constitutional right to your liberty."

According to Bradley, these men are considering whether or not to sue the police department.
