Earlier in the news we brought you an update to the top cop who was killed on San Pedro, and while that investigation continues, the police department is also investigating one of their own. Yesterday we told you that Assistant Commissioner of Police, Aaron Guzman, was involved in a road traffic incident near Buena Vista Village on the Phillip Goldosn Highway that left an American woman dead.
Tonight, we can confirm that the victim has been identified as 73-year-old Bertina Juran Cruce, from Jacksonville Florida.
Guzman was on his way to pick up parts for his work issued vehicle, and was using another officer's vehicle, when he collided head on with Cruce's vehicle. Commissioner Chester Williams told the media that they would investigate the matter just like any other case and that Guzman would be given no special treatment.
