At the top of the news, we told you about Jesse Escobar and the brutal act at the hands of a BDF soldier that ended his life.
But at this point, we turn back to an equally, but perhaps more famous, act of unjustifiable violence committed at the hands of law enforcement.
It's the shooting death of 14-year-old Laddie Gillet by Corporal Kareem Martinez.
And tonight, Laddie's biological mother, Linda Gillett, is calling it a wrongful death and writing to the government through her attorney OJ Elrington to seek $50,000.00 compensation for the fatal shooting.
Ellington has written to the Commissioner of Police, the Attorney General and the CEO in the Ministry of Home Affairs: "She is expecting a response from G.O.B within 30 days from the date of the letter." and quote: "Hoping this can be resolved amicably without the courts involved." End quote.
