And while police continue to investigate that murder, they still haven't classified the death of 16-year-old Keenan Young as a homicide. The postmortem examination was conducted today and it stated that his cause of death was due to Acute respiratory failure due to Acute pulmonary edema. We asked his attending doctor, Fernando Cuellar to break this down in layman's terms, and he explained that the teenager's lungs began filling with liquid, making it impossible to breathe - hence the respiratory failure. Still the postmortem is incomplete since they are now waiting for histology and toxicology studies - the former to test if he had previous medical history that could have led to the respiratory failure and the latter to see if Young had any drugs in his system. At the very least, these reports tend to take 2-3 weeks - but could take months.
