Tonight, the former partner of Winston "Tanga" James is fighting to remain a free woman after learning that she's been designated a named suspect in the investigation of his death.
She calls it a shocking allegation and says it's all based on Facebook "Yerisoh" that the police feel compelled to look into.
But while some may want to see Mary-Beth locked up, she spoke to Channel 7 exclusively to defend her good name and to proclaim her intention to sue the police department.
She says that the accusation of conspiracy to murder against her is ludicrous because even the officers at the Queen street station know that she would have done anything for her "Tanga":

"Everybody know lot of woman out there that hate sweet syrup because of my man, you understand. Everybody know, I am like a Facebook target for people but I don't know why because I don't beg none of them for nothing, I don't play with none of their man, I got one man for 2 years and it was Joseph James you understand. Post up how I have something to do with his death, that it is a set up, whole lot of thing, you know how many times they blaming me when police gone and take James and that I call police and I just leave it because I'm not going to back and forth like that whole live that happen with me and Christina, I'm not on that again. I don't know even know how to answer for me to go to court for something like that, that is not something I want to image because you know and I know they were not going to just take away my phone if they knew that I was a suspect, I would have done do 48 here, I would have done been locked up, they just call me to interview me as a suspect and come with a summons that I sent to my lawyer OJ because OJ tell me just comply with them. CIB is going with that people put up there and somebody call in about a female that they need to investigate me as a suspect. The CIB called me, I'm home in pain, the bullet still in my hand right now as we speak, they call me and said Mary-Beth we want you to see the footage from what happen, the exact footage but so far everything you're telling us adds up with the footage. I say okay I'm coming down, when I I come back down not knowing it was in interrogation I was going in and that I'm a suspect and they bring a court warrant to take away my phone. You done had my phone, why didn't you keep it? I put my life on the line for this man because I love him, when lawyer, when anything, you don't see no girlfriend, no side chick, no wife, you see Mary-Beth, everything at supreme court, lawyer, station here, Mary-Beth, I see who I can pay off, what I can push under the rug because police corrupt and I do whatever I have to do and you know what hurt me miss, when my man take the last gasp of air when I was kissing him, I always pay to get him out of any situation, no care how much thousands it cost, I pay to get him out of the situation and this is one situation I couldn't pay to get him out of and for them to have me as a suspect, that crazy g you understand, I will sue the police department. Miss I am standing up here right now and I'm telling you I no eat yet, I haven't slept yet, when I feel I'm falling asleep I sit up, I can't lye down, I sit on my bed with pillow under my hand and as I feel like I'm dropping asleep, I gasp that's the flash in my head like the man that I love so much dead in my arms and these people are questioning me for a death like that when all these police know and they tell me, they say Mary-Beth we will miss you here because Tanga is here, you are here with lawyer, we will miss, so why will I set up my man for? You know what piss me off with the social media, people need to think and stop be illiterate out here and just run with whatever they hear. Number one, if I wasn't with James when the shooting happened and I get shot up because I got shot first, if a next female because we know how he stand, if a next female was with him and the vehicle because it's my vehicle he use. So if he got shot in my vehicle - let's say he had one of him women in my vehicle because that always happen and one thing, I don't powder puff things and I don't pretty up things, image one of those females he mess with was in my vehicle and they shot up both of them, who you think would have gotten locked up? Who you think would have gotten charged miss? But god set it so that I was with him. Image I was with this man and my life the get threatened, I look death in the eyes, I cried with my babies every night because I could have been like him right now, I never would have been with my babies home and it hurt, this is the worst week of my life."
And Mary Beth says that the large gold rings that Tanga James was wearing when he was shot have gone missing and she blames the police. Later on in the news we'll have that claim.
