Another case that Bradley is involved in is the police tribunal of Corporal Elmer Nah, PC Manuel Caliz, Sgt George Ferguson and PC Nelson Middleton.
These are the former members of the COST team implicated in the landing of a narco plane on the Southern Highway last yea rain November.
The tribunal process now allows them to have attorneys and they had legal representation in the Tribunal. Dickie Bradley was one of those attorneys and he told us that the strategy is to hold all proceedings until these officers go to the Supreme Court charged with the same offenses:
Dickie Bradley - Attorney-At-Law
"In relation to the actual holding of a tribunal for the officer that you mentioned the legal view of the several attorneys who are involved in these matters Michelle Trapp, Leeroy Banner is that what is the rush, why are you forcing my client to try to say something which will be on the record when he has to go to a court and may have to testify if called upon then you come with some kind of copy of some transcript or some recording of what he had said previously in trying to deal with the tribunal matter. So it can't be fair to a person to try to force them to try to say something at a tribunal when they are having to face a court of law in which they are facing very lengthy jail sentences and would be required to say something which might not reconcile with the tribunal matter. So I know we are all saying to the commissioner of police in the interest of justice and fair play there is no urgency to allow these people to go to trial which may happen this year. This particular case involving the plane that landed down south is in front of the Independence court. That is the jurisdiction for this alleged crime. As a matter a fact the magistrate had ordered that the disclosure be given to these accused persons by the next two months so that when you get your disclosure the trial is not far away."
We'll keep following this case.
