17-year-old Destiny Burke Elliot has been missing for a week and a day. She was last seen bolting from the Domestic Violence Unit office after that office made a decision on her placement which she clearly disagreed with.
And today her mother Emma Arthurs came to channel 7 in an attempt to ask the public for any information they can offer on Destiny's whereabouts:

Emma Arthurs - Mother of Missing girl
"I last her or she ran from inside the human services building. Well, she went there hoping that they would agree with what she was saying and they didn't so she ran. She wanted to have her own way basically, you know. She wanted them to agree with her being put someplace else other than her home. Well she ran last week Wednesday at about 7:30 in the night."
Cherisse Halsall
"Where do you think she is now?"
Emma Arthurs
"Somewhere to the back by Pen road."
Cherisse Halsall
"What is it that you are asking the public?"
Emma Arthurs
"If anybody sees her if they could call the police or give me a call at my number. Could be boys could be girls not sure."
Destiny was last seen wearing her school uniform. Her mother says that this is not the first time she has run away from home. Anyone with information about the young woman's whereabouts is asked to call her mother Emma Arthurs at 600-0519 or to contact the domestic violence unit directly.
