Police Checkpoint Got A Big Gun

And in other news, police managed to get both heavy ammunition and an AK47 off the streets today.

We start in Corozal, where cops found thirty 5.56 live rounds of ammunition in a cane field. These are the types of rounds used in M16 rifles, and the M4 Carbine, both deadly assault rifles.

Then, moving west, cops in Cayo recovered an AK47 near a checkpoint in St Matthews. The checkpoint was near mile 35 where a black Chevy Equinox tried to elude the cops. A chase ensued and there was an exchange of gunfire. The vehicle was able to escape, but not before the occupants threw this AK47 and a 9mm Glock pistol out the window. The officers deposited it as found property and are still looking for that Equinox.
