And in other news, last week, we told you that mother of three, 30-year-old Celia Florian's postmortem revealed that she had been murdered. Florian's body was found last Saturday near mile 40 on the Hummingbird Highway. While it had initially bore no signs of injury, the police later discovered that she had been strangled.

And today, Superintendent Gerald Jones told us that there are reports that a police officer may be involved.

Supt. Gerald Jones, Deputy Head, NCIB

"On Thursday the 10th of November 2022 at 3:30 p.m. a doctor conducted a post-mortem examination on the body of Celia Florian, Belizean waitress of Mariposa Street Belmopan. At the conclusion of the examination the doctor certified the cause of death to be asphyxia due to strangulation due to head blunt force injuries. This matter is now being fully investigated as a murder investigation into this matter."

Courtney Menzies:
"Are you able to confirm whether or not a police officer is being investigated as a suspect?"

Supt. Gerald Jones, Deputy Head, NCIB
"At this time our investigation is showing some leads in terms of investigation of a police officer being involved in this situation but at this point in time I am not able to share this information due to the fact that the investigation is still ongoing and I don't want to pre-empt any situation to happen but we are investigating this matter."
