41 year old Jervis Diamond Valencia was shot last week, the fourth time he has been targeted and hit in 8 years. And today the two men accused of trying to kill him were taken to court.
25 year old Logwood Street resident, Lyndon Alexander St. Claire, and 23-year-old, Kareem Kelly of Mayflower Street today appeared unrepresented before the Chief Magistrate, Jayani Wegodapola.
First to be arraigned was St. Claire who was read three charges: one count of attempted murder, one count of use of deadly means of harm and one count of dangerous harm. Kelly was arraigned next on a single charge of abetment to commit murder.
No plea taken, no bail was granted and Kelly and St. Claire were both remanded to Prison until June 23, 2023.
Diamond Valencia was shot in the foot last week Wednesday on Logwood Street after leaving an LIU meeting. His injury was not life threatening.
