On Friday we told you about a woman who survived a domestic attack. Jasmine Aguilar was standing at mile 2 1/2 on the George Price Highway when her ex partner, 31-year-old Wilmer Rivero, cut her throat and stabbed her in the abdomen. Today, the police told us that he has been arrested and charged, and that it wasn't the first time she'd made a report against him.

"On Friday, around 8:34 a.m., information was received of a stabbing at Linda Vista Street in Belize City. Police made checks where a female, Jasmine Aguilar, was found with stab wounds. She was escorted to the KHMH where she received treatment. An investigation was carried out which led to the arrest of Wilmer Rivero, thirty-one-year-old Belizean for the crimes of attempted murder and use of deadly means of harm. Rivero is the ex-boyfriend of the victim. She is in stable condition now at the K.H.M.H."

"Since they are separated, is it a matter that he maybe barged into her home, anything like that?"

"She was on the street waiting for a taxi at the time when she was attacked in that area. She was not at home at the time."

"Has she ever made any police reports?"

"Yes, there was a report that she had made previously."

"The matter was dealt with by the Domestic Violence Unit."
