A resident of Coney Drive in Belize City went to court today for traffic offenses and also for being in possession of methamphetamine - known as Crystal Meth.
31 year old Zhu Bin Deng, appeared unrepresented before Magistrate, Dennison Mannan in Civil Court #8 where he was read five counts, three traffic offenses and two drug related charges. The traffic offenses are driving an unlicensed vehicle, without insurance and without having a drivers' license.
The drug charges are for possession of a controlled drug, 1.6 grams of metamphetamine and one count of possession of a pipe.
Deng pleaded guilty to the three traffic offenses but not guilty to the drug charges.
He received fines of a few hundred dollars for the traffic offenses, and had his license revoked for a year for driving without insurance. He was bailed for the drug charges.
