He was front and center during the Jasmin Hartin but tonight Isaac Robateau is making another kind of history after he was denied entry to the bar. Justice Patricia Farnese handed down a judgement earlier this week denying his application for admission to the bar.
And why? Well she says he simply doesn't have a Legal Education Certificate.
Written submissions were made on Robateau's in the name of Senior Counsel Hubert Elrington, but the judge says, quote, "the written submissions demonstrate a fundamental misunderstanding of the requirements of admission to practice law in Belize. I wished to save Mr. Robateau the experience of assembling his family and friends for what he hoped would be a joyous occasion only to learn that his application was dismissed." End quote.
Her judgement explains that Robateau did not meet the specific requirements to be called to the bar and dismissed his Application to practice law in Belize.
