And another armed attack happened last night in the Cayo district, this time it was in Benque Viejo Town on Guerra Street just after 8:00pm.
43 year old Michelle Lopez was at home with her 16 year old daughter and her boyfriend when a man opened the gate and started to approach the veranda and flashed what looked like a firearm in his waist. The teen and her mother locked themselves inside a room, leaving the boyfriend in the kitchen area. The intruder grabbed a fanny pack with $2,500 Belize dollars in cash - the proceeds from a motorcycle sale earlier that day in San Ignacio. One 9 millimeter casing and a 9mm slug was found at the scene along with a black jacket. No one has been detained as yet for questioning.
