The mayor also quite justifiably lashed out on city residents who litter without a second thought. During September - which is supposed to be a patriotic month - these litterbugs seem to put their love of littering before love of country - and just throw everything, from water bags to beer bottles anywhere they choose. And after a mass event like Carnival - the streets look like the city's been sacked!
The mayor's pretty fed up with that too!

"We have to take a deep, introspective look at ourselves as residents of the city and not because we have the sanitation team to clean up the city that means you will throw all of your garbage in the city. Please practice some civic pride. I always tell the adults of this country, that we kids are watching us each and every day. And if they see their parents throwing the garbage on the streets, they will in the future throw it in the streets."
