The connection between Commissioner Chester Williams and murdered businessman Ricardo Borja was illuminated somewhat yesterday when the Commissioner of Police addressed the issue again.

Jules Vasquez put his latest remarks into the context of what had been known previously:

This is the 2021 Toyota Tacoma that Ricardo Borja bought in July, 2022 from Commissioner of Police Chester Williams - for which he has no apologies:

Jules Vasquez:
"Did you sell him that fancy Toyota pickup that he had?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"A person from Belize City called me and said that Borja wanted Toby a pickup. I sent the pickup to Belize City, they took it to the person. The person called me subsequently and said that the man liked the pickup, he's going to buy it, I was paid for the pickup and that's it."

Jules Vasquez:
"So, this is a high value pickup, It's a $90.000 dollar truck."

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Jules, Jules. It's not a 90,000 dollar truck. It's a $70,000 truck."

In an interesting coincidence Borja acquired the truck in July of 2022. On 19th July, it was posted as sold on this site. The insurance sticker says he insured it on July 22nd, around the same time that he obtained three gun licenses from the Commissioner. On 18th July there was this 7 millimeter bolt action rifle - a very high powered gun - experts tell us - then on 26th July, a 9 millimeter pistol and also during that period, a.223 rifle.

The commissioner has said on other media that he ensured that Borja never had more than two active licenses at a time. But, despite all these interactions and a 5 figure truck sale, the Compol claims he never met the guy:

Jules Vasquez:
"So you said that you were in a constant exchange with Mr. Borja. I gave you another license, you hand back in this license. It seems very unbecoming. You have work to do, sir. You don't got time to micromanage, Mr. Borja's licenses. Would you say that your relationship with Mr. Borja was on the level?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Mr. Vasquez, for your knowledge, I have never met Mr. Borja in person. I don't know who he is."

Jules Vasquez
"Even though he got 10 licenses, 9, in 17 months."

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I believe that I have addressed the Borja issue as effectively as I could have and I have no more discussion about it. The man is dead. He's not here to defend himself."

It's a tired refrain that the commissioner has invoked more than twice - to stop the discussion around the Borja murder. But it is still an unsolved murder - and he is the only businessman to have been killed in a hit this year - a ripe subject for conversation fueled by the posthumous recording he left behind - but the Commissioner would wish that we would never talk about it again.

Persons have been questioned but no one is currently held for Borja's murder.
