And it's the work that the Town Council has been doing that makes Nunez confident that they will be able to serve another term in office. He's being endorsed by the PUP, and says that even though elections are a few months away, they still have a lot of work to do.
Gualberto Nunez, Mayor, San Pedro Town
"Like I said before, our team has been working since day 1. I know there's a lot of people that say that the political parties start to move during election time but we have proven otherswise. We started to work from day 1, the first year we started to work on all these streets and it's just a continuation of the work that we started. I know there's a lot of people that may be impatient when it comes to the roads in their areas, you know, it's blocking traffic here and there but once it is done it's going to be a long term plan so that people could have their streets in a better weather condition so that we can drive through the area, it brings economic growth in all these areas, it connects all the different areas and the residential areas, so it is something positive for all of the development of our island. When it comes to the different other areas that are not done yet, I know everybody starts to post and comment on Facebook, when are you coming to my area? When San Mateo, when Boca Del Rio? We're getting there, we're coming along this way and it's going to come, it's in the plan."

"Do you think that you've done enough to secure another term?"
Gualberto Nunez, Mayor, San Pedro Town
"I believe so and the work speaks for itself. We are out there talking to people, talking to the residents, listening to their concerns and it is something very positive that we are hearing, the feedback, it is something that, it warms my heart to know that people are happy with our work and we will just continue the work because that is what we were elected for, to serve the people."
Reporter:
"Any ideas of who will go up against you?"
Gualberto Nunez, Mayor, San Pedro Town
"At the moment we're hearing a lot of different names, I hear there's a lot of infighting between them, however, we are not focused on that, we are focusing on our work and what we have to do and what we have to accomplish because at the end of the day, people elected us to serve the people."
