The maintenance worker is behind bars tonight after he allegedly raped a Belize City woman on October 14th. He is also accused of assaulting his victim with a frying pan for which he is charged with harm.

Ciego appeared before a senior magistrate today where no plea was taken from him due to the nature of the offense, and he was also denied bail. He was remanded to prison until January 16th 2024.
