Tonight, a mother of four stands accused of child neglect. This is after police patrolling on Iguana street at 10:25 last night saw her three year old daughter standing on the side of the street unaccompanied. With no one else in sight, the officers assumed that the child was alone, and took the infant back to the police station and contacted a social worker. Further investigations revealed that the child belonged to 25 year old Lyannie Castillo. She appeared unrepresented in court today and was charged with abandonment of an infant. The magistrate explained to her that no plea can be taken from her at this time until instructions are given from the DPP's office on how to proceed. She was granted bail of $3,000 dollars which she was able to meet. Sources claim that Castillo lost custody of all four of her children but she denies these allegations.
