We asked the Foreign Minister about the comments from the leader of the opposition. He said Shyne Barrow is on the wrong side of history:

"He's on the side of Israel. He's on the side of the apartheid state and he's on the side of the genocidal state and we will not be on that side. Secondly, with respect to Russia and Ukraine, Belize has received many commendations from countries around the world for the very clear stance that we have articulated on repudiating the actions of Russia."
"There are certain diplomatic things that were in train with Russia that we have suspended and we have not, we will not proceed with them but we haven't made them public because it is a situation where we prefer to deal with it in a diplomatic way."
"On the question of Russia and Ukraine, Belize has been absolutely clear and consistent. We have rejected the illegal war, the illegal invasion of Ukraine by Russia and that is our position. On the situation of Venezuela and Guyana, Caricom has spoken out."
"We have spoken out along with Caricom. We have spoken yesterday to the Venezuelan ambassador, primarily on this issue."
