Back in March, the Kings Park community was shocked after 30-year-old taxi driver Nigel Williams was shot in his vehicle on St Peter Street. He crashed the car in the drain and ran out, only to collapse at the corner of St Thomas and St Joseph Streets.
And today, his accused killer, Tyrike Supal, walked free after the murder charges were dropped. He appeared unrepresented and today's hearing had originally been scheduled for disclosure but the prosecution informed the Chief Magistrate that they were directed by the DPP to dismiss the charges. No reason was given for the dismissal. Supal had spent five months on remand.
