A man who's allegedly a prolific Facebook scammer today told the court he's optimistic about his chances of getting even as he was remanded to prison.
Melbourne Wade was today slapped with another charge of theft involving a vehicle, making it his sixth charge for theft since August. This time the victim is a City Businessman who claims Wade rented his Ford Escape for 3 days, and then pawned out his vehicle to a man in Cayo.
This morning, the 30-year-old Wade who describes himself as a Car Dealer who was already on remand for a similar charge was brought down to court on another count or theft.
He appeared before the Chief Magistrate and Wade told her that the victim wants no court action against him. He added that the Ford Escape has also been returned. Of course, that only happened because police apprehended it.
Despite this, the police prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds that he had 5 other charges pending and that an earlier bail had been revoked because he violated it.
Wade's many counts of theft include one allegation made by former Belize City Mayor, Zenaida Moya from whom he allegedly swindled over $6,000 dollars paid towards another Ford Escape. She also gave him a minivan to sell but had not gotten the proceeds from that sale.
