A Public officer has been arrested and charged for theft, after allegedly pinching five grand from The Treasury Department.
She is 33 year old Shamira Hope, a government cashier from South Street.
Last week, the assistant accountant general was informed by The finance Officer at the department that one hundred $50 dollar notes were missing from her cash pan totaling to $5,000 dollars.
The finance Officer discovered this while conducting a cash check, and consulted with the cashier. Hope then allegedly admitted that she took the cash on Wednesday September 25th for medical reasons.
