An on - duty police officer caught on camera wantonly fired a warning shot from his service weapon in the presence of civilians was taken to court today to face the criminal charge of "discharging a firearm in public." It happened on Tuesday on Antelope Street Extension.
Now, firearm officers usually result in remand but 43-year-old, Richard Gillett managed to get bail. That's because of a technicality in the section of the law he was charged under.
His attorney Dickie Bradley asked - what crime did Gillett commit?:
There was no objection to bail and it was set at $1,000 plus one surety of the same amount. Gillett'S next court date is set for July 24TH.
