But, we did catch the acting Commissioner of Police, Bart Jones. And we asked him about the ongoing Budna investigation. Calls have been made for an independent investigation because the evidence clearly demonstrates police involvement - at the very highest levels. Acting Commissioner Jones expressed confidence in the police:
Bart Jones, Acting Commissioner of Police
"Well, from the police department, we can only instruct police officers. We can't instruct independent persons to conduct investigations. And I, I think..."
REPORTER-
"But you could have recommended that there be an independent one, given that they're implicating police officers."

Bart Jones, Acting Commissioner of Police
"But one may say that but you can also look at the fact that, there are many times that police officers, who are found afoul of the law and police officers investigate and charge. So this is nothing, nothing new. Police officers investigate and police officers charge there are police officers who are before the courts right now who are charged by police officers. And there were no independent commissions. They have been in an unfortunate set of circumstances where persons would have died in custody. Police officers had been held liable and we have had them arrested by police officers."
REPORTER-
"But in this case, there's an allegation and an accusation that it goes all the way up top to the Commissioner of Police."
Bart Jones, Acting Commissioner of Police
"Well, I can't speak to the allegations. There are allegations running all. And, in fact, there were allegations that, that were circulating, on social media yesterday that Dr Rosado was in Bella Vista when he was not. So, I would not speak to the, allegations."
REPORTER-
"But that was just someone taking a video."
Bart Jones, Acting Commissioner of Police
"At the end of the investigation and see where it goes."
