Accused of fatally shooting her aunt's common law husband a month ago in Belmopan, 21 year old Christy Guzman who was charged with manslaughter by negligence, was granted bail today in the sum of $9,000 dollars which she was able to meet. She had been on remand for the past month.

Justice Nigel Pilgrim granted her bail under the conditions that she must report to the Belmopan Police Station every Monday and Friday. She is not to interfere with the family of the deceased and must surrender all travel documents. Guzman was represented by attorney Hurl Hamilton, and her next court date is set for November 7th.

Notably, her aunt, Dalia Vellos - who was the common law wife of the deceased - has not been charged- even though it is alleged that her licensed weapon was used in the killing - which arose from a domestic dispute.
