Tonight, an August Pine Ridge father of two is clinging to life at the KHMH after he was knocked down off his bicycle on Friday evening. It happened inside his village, where 37 year old Ronny Castellanos was hit by a fuel tanker, with the massive impact injuring him badly to the head and body. Today at the KHMH his wife and sister told us he has been unresponsive since. They are concerned that the driver who hit him will. Not be charged.
Mirrea Castellanos, Sister of Accident Victim

"About 6 15 p.m. on Friday and when we went to pick him up he was in a critical condition. Reaching in Orange Walk they told us he had a trauma and we transported him right here in KHMH. Up to now he is in a very critical condition very critical. They will make him today a CT Scan to know if he could go under a neck surgery but if he can't go into a neck surgery I don't know what would happen."

Orange Walk Police have found the truck that hit him and the driver 53 year old Roberto Polanco was detained, a Urine Sample was obtained and he was served a Notice of intended Prosecution.
Tonight, the family is asking him, or the truck's owner of someone to help with covering the cost of the medical imaging he needs for his head injuries:
