Police Constable Pleads Guilty to Unlawful Sexual Intercourse With Minor

A police constable, 29-year-old Dexter Diego, appeared in the High Court this morning to answer to the charge of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. The incident is reported to have first occurred when the minor was 13, on four separate occasions between December 2022 and March of 2026. Diego's trial was to begin today when he appeared before Justice Nigel Pilgrim, but he ended up pleading guilty to the four counts of unlawful sexual intercourse. Justice Pilgrim deferred Diego's sentencing to September 8th, after ordering that a prison report, social inquiry report, and a victim impact statement be taken. Diego was represented in court by Attorney Hurl Hamilton.
