Seven venues in four weeks in front of audiences of thousands, that is how Ras Indio spent his September. Indio is back from a tour up and down the west coast of the United States where he performed on stages in Washington, California, and Oregon. He hob-knobbed with the likes of Belizean Pupa Curly and Jamaica's Damian "Junior Gong" Marley and performed on a boat cruise with Yami Bolo. Ras Indio stopped by our studios today with images and memories of his west coast tour.
Ras Indio,
"It's a truly tremendous month through the blessings of the most high for me to go and deliver more righteous and positive messages across the whole pacific northwest of the USA. I represented Belize to the Belizeans who are over there in America for the Belizean Parkfest in LA. I was at the Century City Park Club with Damian Marley. I was in Seattle with Culture and I was there with Winston Jarret.
The people over there genuinely love the music. The whole trip was a highlight. Performing with Culture was a true highlight because I listened to Culture growing up so seeing them right in the club and being able to perform right before them, and them giving me love for my performance, it was truly a blessing you know.
I believe that from hereon my whole career has changed and next year should be much bigger and better for Ras Indio. I should have an ad in the Reggae Fest Band Magazine, it's a big magazine promoted worldwide, and many many connections, far too much to explain over the camera. I hope this shows Belizean artists that we have to stay motivated and determined because that's all I have been."
Indio is planning to release a DVD of his tour in December. He is planning a world "Push Up Di Fire" tour for next year.
