The annual Belize Sound Fest will be held tomorrow night at the City Center. Organizers say this will be the biggest year yet with a patriotic song competition, a battle of the bands, and live performances from living legends such as Mr. Peters and Lord Rhaburn - all mixed in one. That's more star power than you'd expect to find under one roof and promoter Tony Wright says that's why you should attend.
Tony Wright,
"What we have this year really is like battle of the bands, voice of Belize, and Sound Fest - like three in one so we're planning to have a full and compact show this year. We have a little youth who will do some music for us from 7 to 8. We have Dara who will be out there and Dara has that big screen and Dara will be showing footage of Sound Fest of 2002. Then at 9 we just kick off things with Kenny G and the New Creation Band. He will just work up the show until about 9:30 and then Mr. Peters come on. We have the Youth Connection Band, we have Family Fusion, and we also have our jazz band and then we have Kenny G and the New Creation Band and then we have Ernestine Carballo and Chico Ramos so we have the best of the best lined up for Sound Fest this year. We just want the people to come out and support Belizean artists and Belizean music."
Showtime is at 9 but as Wright mentioned, the gates open.
