Most of downtown Belize City will be off limits this weekend but it won’t be because it’s closed for paving. Instead the British Army will be in town shooting a television commercial. Beginning midnight on Saturday and continuing all day Sunday - Albert Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic. Southbound traffic from the Swing Bridge will be diverted to Water Lane and then West Canal. The producers are also asking drivers not to park on Albert Street between Bishop and Dean Streets on Saturday night through to Sunday night.
Albert Street, between Dean and King Streets, will be cleared of all cars as of 9 on Saturday night. The commercial is for an international market and it will recruit women to join the British Armed Forces. Segments will also be shot in Seine Bight and on the Burrell Boom Road.
