It is the only concert big enough to have four bands performing and diverse enough to have Melonie Gillett, Chico Ramos, and Reckless on the same stage. We are talking of course about the annual Soundfest which takes place tomorrow night at the Belize City Center. In 8 years it has become September’s premier musical event and organizer Tony Wright from the Association for Belizean Artists First says they won’t disappoint.

Tony Wright, Promoter, Soundfest
"Tanya Carter, Melonie Gillett, Ernestine Carballo - that is top of the line right there along with Youth Connection Band and Chico Ramos, Ernestine will perform with Danger Zone band so we are kind of shifting up things so it

really build up to a tempo.

We the look for really a smashing time in the Civic. Every year we try to uplift the show as we go on and we have this year for instance Boss Hogg Sounds which is one of the baddest systems in town and so the civic will explode tomorrow evening with, I done hype up already Keith because of the artists. We have a new band, the Ivanesse Band which is a new band but the musicians themselves are seasoned musicians and they will back most of the artists them on the show tomorrow. So the artists are excited, everybody is getting hype already. So we just want the people them to come out and support Soundfest.

What we the try do is uplift our artists, have something good for them to appear on, have good system, have good sounds, have good mic and everything so they are really comfortable and they perform to their best. And once people come out and support – those guys will just give an exciting performance.”

$15 will get you in to the City Center. The doors open at 8:30 on Friday night. There will be shuttle buses running to and from Ladyville and Lord’s Bank to facilitate those who want to attend the concert.
