Saturday is the anniversary of Bob Marley’s birthday and in what has become an annual tradition, Dara Cyber Home Theatre will be throwing the biggest party. This year the tribute to Bob Marley will be held at the MCC Court starting at 4 pm on Saturday. And while it will be Bob Marley’s birthday, the focus will be on Dara’s Barrel Drive. It is a barrel he hopes to fill with canned goods for needy children and families. The canned food drive started on Monday at the corner of Albert and Bishop Street. That is where we found him this evening.

Dara Robinson,
“The only difference I have with the show is a new live performance with Bob Marley. It will show on a huge screen and I have new band coming from San Pedro named Cool Jays Band. They are one of the baddest reggae bands right now in San Pedro who will have a part of the show because people will say Dara your show is good but you are short of a live band. So this year we will have a live band. I have my same lineup of selectors; Quamie, the Rocker, Tony G and others. But the show like I said, the people love the show and always support the show but my thing is this. I really want this to work.

I am not asking for no box of groceries, it is just one. If everybody could just give one canned food it will make a difference. My vision is to fill this but I am far from that but I won’t give up.

It is something like I said that is from my heart I am doing it and I just wish….because we can come together when disaster but right now the disaster is here still because I am telling you people are in the country who are taking lick but not everybody will come out and cry. Like I said it is just one can. Even if I don’t fill it I won’t feel discouraged. I will continue the work because I promised those pickney I will be a fighter for that.”

Dara will be on Albert Street again tomorrow afternoon. Saturday’s tribute to Bob Marley starts at 4 pm at the MCC Tennis Court.
